The Other White Meat: Fisherman’s Feast

Here’s a quick tip for all you tanks out there that are looking for stamina food. Brew up some Fisherman’s Feast.

This recipe is one of two +30 Stamina foods in the game. The other - Spicy Crawdad - also comes from fish. The Crawdad can easily go for 50-60 gold per stack.

If you’re observant and lucky, you can get the Fisherman’s Feast for much cheaper.

Here’s the trick. For each Huge Spotted Feltail that you use, you get 6 Fisherman’s Feast. That’s right. One fish plus some reagents turns into six pieces of stamina food.

People often fish up the Huge Spotted Feltail and either a) don’t know what it’s for, or b) don’t know that the recipe makes six pieces of food (it originally made one). As such, people will sell them on the Auction House for very little money. I’ve picked them up for as little as 10 silver, and I’m comfortable paying up to a gold for them.

In addition to the Feltail, you’ll need some reagents. You’ll need 5 x Goldenbark Apple (50s) and 5 x Soothing Spices (8s). You’re overall investment, then, is 58 silver plus the cost of the Feltail.

If you snagged a Feltail for 1 gold on the Auction House, you’d be paying 1g58s for six pieces of +30 Stamina food. That works out to an average of 5g27s per stack of food or 26s per piece. That beats the hell outta 50g per stack or 2g50s each for Crawdad.

So the next time you find a Huge Spotted Feltail in your Barrel of Fish or on the Auction House… don’t scoff at it. That cooks up into some awesome food.
