Holy DPS, Batman!

The other day, I went through Heroic Slave Pens. It was the daily quest. I jumped into the queue as soon as I got on, and with tanks in high demand it didn’t take long before someone sent me a tell and asked me to join their group.
An Elemental Shaman started the group, and we eventually found an Enhancement Shaman, a Beast Mastery Hunter, and a Holy Paladin. It took a bit for us to grab a healer, but once we had the other Pally we were on our way.
One of the Shammies commented on the awesome composition of our group and guessed that we might be able to finish the run in 30 minutes. He was close - it probably took about 40 minutes. We didn’t CC a single mob, although I did mark one guy on the 5-pull as a Blue Square (Ice Trap). Props to Holy Crusade for healing me through four angry Bogstroks… they tend to hit fairly hard.
The most amazing part of it, though, is the damage meter. At the end, one of the Shammies whispered me, “You beat the DPS on the damage charts.” I opened up SW Stats and low and behold, I was number two on the damage meter. Although I was well below the uber, chain lightning happy Shaman, I had eked out the Enhancement Shaman and the BM Hunter (I’m wondering now if SW Stats was including the pet in the Hunter’s DPS).
It was a great run - quick, painless, and mistake free. But it kind of amazes me that I was able to do so much damage. I guess that’s what happens when you use no CC, and you continuously Consecrate and Holy Shield. All that Holy DPS starts to add up after a while - when you’re hitting three to four mobs at once. Hooray for Prot Pallies!
